I attended Glossodia public school right through my primary school years in the 1960s. I witnessed the landing on the moon as did the rest of the school in the lounge room of the school principal's residence. The name comes from the local purple bush orchid of the same name. Our school flag was purple and our sports uniforms were white with a purple stripe.

I also sat in the School Principals lounge toom. Mr Duncan whose daughter also went to our school. Mr Nash was our teacher and watched the first man on the moon. We had 2 classes to a teacher. I remember vividly my school years there.
