Hawkesbury People & Places The Bloodwood Trail of about 5 kilometres return also known as the Bloodwood Track is located in Blaxlands Ridge, New South Wales. In 1899, following demands from local residents, a new route was put through from Blaxlands Ridge Road to the Bull Ridge Road via Roberts Creek which is not longer a public road. This new road followed the ridge for about 1.6 kilometres in a south-easterly direction from Blaxlands Ridge Road before descending steeply down to Roberts Creek, then headed south along the banks of Roberts Creek before climbing in an easterly direction to meet Bull Ridge Road. The Bloodwood Firetrail follows the first section of the road from Blaxlands Ridge Road but the route across Roberts Creek and on to join the Bull Ridge at the Putty Road (formerly part of Bull Ridge Road) now lies within private property. The track down to Roberts Creek is well maintained and provides an easy and enjoyable walk. In early spring there is an abundance of colourful and frangrant flowers including boronias, egg and bacon (Eutaxia species), acacias and blue sun orchids (Thelymitra).
