Clarks Island is a small island in the Hawkesbury River downstream from the confluence of the Hawkesbury and Nepean Rivers and adjacent to Belmont, property owned by Archibald Bell and later Philip Charley now the location of St John of God Hospital. It was named after James and Martha Clarke who farmed on the island from the 1850s to the 1870s.
