On the western shore of Berowra Creek immediately downstream of the ferry crossing. Also known earlier as Crossland Bay and shown as such on an 1885 Lands Department map. Prior to reclamation works in the 1970s, the bay was subject to considerable siltation which could have led to dust being blown about during summer low tides.
