John Fernance arrived as a convict in 1814 per ‘General Hewitt’. His wife Mary (nee Green) and son, Joseph arrived free in 1815 on the ‘Broxbornebury’. Fernance took up land in the viscinity of the locality which bears his name.
A locality on Mogo Creek about 5 km E by N of Higher Macdonald. Boundaries within the Hawkesbury Council area shown on map GNB 3716.
