Amounting to 288 acres, the portion of land known as the German Paddock was located to the south of Kurmond Road and bordering on Crooked Lane, North Richmond, New South Wales.

Extract from land title document Volume 1277 Folio 195 dated June 1896 showing the boundary of the German Paddock and the grants making up the 288 acres portion of land. The road along the top of the property is Kurmond Road
It comprised the grants to John Meyrick (Merrick), Robert Tomlinson, James Knell, John Town jnr, John Town snr and William Hillier Holborrow of Richmond and others. In the 1890s the block was offered for sale by Holborrow. It is not clear how the property gained the name which seems to date from the 1880s.
From the Hawkesbury Herald 16 January 1903 p 15. North Richmond
The road called the German’s Paddock Road now known as Slopes Road connecting Crooked land with Kurmond Road was put through during 1903 when the thoroughfare was promoted as a quicker route to Comleroy Road.
