The Windsor Dairy and Ice Society Ltd, a local co-operative, commenced operation in Fairey Road, South Windsor New South Wales in August 1922, the society became known as the Hawkesbury Dairy and Ice Society Ltd when the name was registered in October 1927. The factory was located next to the railway tracks and a siding was constructed to facilitate the transportation of the company’s products. The society processed milk for the Sydney market as well as making ice for delivery around the Hawkesbury District.
