McMahon Park is located at the end of McMahons Park Road, Kurrajong, New South Wales. McMahon Park is a reserve with well-equiped Kurrajong Community Centre, sports oval, cricket pitch and amenities block. It was named after Colo Shire councillor, James Edward McMahon.

In the 19th century, the reserve was the location of the Kurrajong Race Track. The Kurrajong Picnic Races were held on Boxing Day each year up to approximately World War One. The reserve was Gazetted for Colo Shire Council in 1911.
Report of the official unveiling of the Memorial Gates erected at the entrance to the park which was formally renamed McMahon Park in honour of the late James Edward McMahon who served on Colo Shire Council from its inception in 1906 until 1941. The plaque was unveiled by H C Matheson with McMahon’s widow on 29 March 1947.

James Edward McMahon died in 1946, the son of Thomas John and Mary McMahon.
Name ‘Kurrajong Park’ altered to ‘McMahon Park’ Decision by Commonwealth, Parks 42 - 1385, proclaimed and placed under the control of Colo Shire Council Gazetted 14 June 1911, Parks 47 - 1008.
