Swimming spot thought to be located on the Hawkesbury River at Windsor where segregated (by sex) swimming took place in the early evening and after dark.
‘The swimming season has commenced in earnest, and every afternoon and night scores of men and boys disport themselves in the river at “The Oak”. The lady natators also have their bathing site picked out, and regular droves of them could be seen wending their way thither every evening this week.’
